My Darling

A little bed time prayer to put my darling girl to bed
Her day has been so busy, memories dance around her head

The little tiny butterfly to which my darling girl gave chase
She ran so fast and so carefree but could not keep up the pace

The colourful great rainbow she admires in the sky a far
Her only little question …Could she reach it in daddy's car?

The ice lolly that she holds in her hand so tight and bold
She doesn't worry it may melt or that her hands are cold

No sense of time no rush involved everything can wait
Doesn't matter where you're going or if you're a little late?

Her life you see is simple as simple as can be
And that's the way it should be as my darling's only three.

An Unknown Friend

I see the lady's face, shouting out aloud,
People glance just for a second then take the long way round
They are passing by you see and just don't take the time
To see the person standing there…is this problem mine

At one point or another, we all need some help along
If the path has been too rocky or the souls not feeling strong
Crazy as it sounds but I could imagine that its true.
This lady has had time to grow used to the arrogance from me and you

You see the one thing we all have is the gift of just a smile
It can light up someone's day and leave them happy for a while
It doesn't cost….. There is no charge…. it's free to you and me
I know there aren't many things in life that fall into this category

So when you pass by this lady, please could you try to remember?
To give a little smile to the lady who is my Big Issue Vendor.

The View

Sitting on a chair looking out upon the ocean
Moving gently round in a silent swishing motion
Sunshine beating down it warms your whole soul through
It feels good to be alive, and your so glad that your you

Right out in the distance a boat is just in view
Who are the people on it and what is it that they do
Where has their journey taken them? What is it they have seen?
You lie back with your eyes closed and take the chance to dream

Right out there before you to grasp and take a hold
If you have the courage and the strength to be so bold
There are many different journeys to take you on your way
Some may take a lifetime and some others just a day.

But what it makes you realise in just a small sweet way
Life provides a journey every single day.
Some are tough and others long to mention just a few
But they will always lead you back to here
And yes the lovely View……..
